On Monday, June 10, the social media influencer shared a video on Instagram, addressing the unfavorable attention she and James reportedly got after the docuseries, which debuted on May 29, suggested that the pair were participating in an alleged cult.

“Hey guys, I know I don’t normally make this kind of content, but I just wanted to be transparent and a little vulnerable with you,” Miranda said on camera in her video.

“But before this documentary, my husband and I felt safe,” she said. “Now that this documentary is out, we feel like our lives have been put in danger.”

Miranda’s sister, Melanie Wilking, relates the tale of Miranda and James’ meeting on Netflix.

According to Melanie, James was a prominent Krump dancer whose abilities earned him a spot on NBC’s World of Dance. Melanie and Miranda are also recognized for their dance, and the three started cooperating in April 2019.

However, once the three formed a group chat, James soon deleted Melanie, allowing just him and Miranda to talk, and the two began dating.

Miranda was first exposed to Robert Shinn’s 7M organization, which is the topic of the series, via her interactions with James. In 2022, the Wilkings released an Instagram Live video accusing Shinn of leading a cult.

“We were both followed in our automobiles. We’ve gotten hate mail and death threats. People have sent us suicide texts. “We’ve been stalked,” Miranda alleged on Monday.

She went on to provide specific instances of suspected troubling conduct.

“I honestly don’t understand how my parents and sister believed this documentary would benefit me or improve our relationship in any way.”I just don’t get it,” Miranda continued.

The TikTok singer also said that she and her family have been meeting discreetly “for the past couple of years” to “mend” their relationship, but their work has been halted due to recent events.

“To be honest, I believe my parents and sister have been so concentrated on this documentary that they have neglected to build any connection with me, which hurts. Miranda responded, “That hurts me to say.”

She noted that it’s been difficult to concentrate on making social media material with everything going on, and she apologized to her fans if things on her accounts were “slower” than normal.

Before ending her video, she thanked her followers for their “kind messages” and pledged to return to dance soon.
