Nosferatu: Release Date, Cast, Plot, Trailer, and All You Know

In Robert Eggers’ forthcoming remake of the legendary 1922 German Expressionist silent film, Bill Skarsgård will play the role of Nosferatu, going from Pennywise the Clown to one of the most renowned vampires of all time. Horror fans will have to wait to see Skarsgård’s entire appearance as Count Orlok, as the movie’s debut trailers from Focus Features keep the vampire’s whole visage a secret. Despite Skarsgård’s brief appearance in the short, his character’s ominous presence is felt strongly.

Director and writer Eggers is well-known in the horror genre for his work on films like “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse,” and he is set to elevate “Nosferatu” as the best horror movie yet. Focus Features also handled the distribution of Eggers’ most recent film, the Viking revenge epic “The Northman.”

“Nosferatu,” one of the most anticipated upcoming horror movies, is described as “a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake” in its logline.

Ellen Hutter, played by Lily-Rose Depp, is the object of Nosferatu’s obsession. Nicholas Hoult is Thomas Hutter, Ellen’s spouse and a real estate agent who meets a new customer, unaware that the count is a centuries-old vampire. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Kraven the Hunter”) plays Friedrich Harding, Emma Corrin (“The Crown”) portrays Anna Harding, and Willem Dafoe plays Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz.

Previously, Harry Styles and Anya Taylor-Joy were supposed to play Thomas and Ellen Hutter, respectively, but both backed out owing to scheduling difficulties.

“Nosferatu,” slated for release in cinemas on December 25, promises to be the best horror movie of the year.

Nosferatu Release Date

“Nosferatu,” planned to be released on December 25, 2024, is one of the most anticipated upcoming horror movies written and directed by Robert Eggers.Regarding the release date, Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski joked, “The audacious filmmaking of Robert Eggers is always a gift for fans, and we can promise that his Nosferatu is planning quite a Christmas feast.”

Nosferatu Cast

Like most of Robert Eggers’ films, Nosferatu has a star-studded cast, with numerous previous collaborators reprising their roles. Lily-Rose Depp will star as Ellen Hutter, a young lady who unintentionally becomes the target of Count Orlok’s deceitful attention. Willem Dafoe plays Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, a crazy vampire hunter who previously worked with Eggers on The Lighthouse.

Bill Skarsgård stars as Count Orlok, the titular vampire, adding to his horror hot streak. Skarsgård is most recognized for his role as Pennywise in the contemporary adaptations of Stephen King’s IT. He has a flair for morphing himself into numerous ghouls and monsters with stunning ease. Nicholas Hoult also plays Thomas Hutter, a man trapped between Ellen and Count Orlok’s vampiric intentions.

Nosferatu Plot

Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is likely to be satirical of the original 1922 film’s premise, while specifics about the plot are sketchy at best. The story, which closely resembles Bram Stoker’s Dracula book, follows a young woman (Depp’s Ellen) as she runs from an elderly vampire who travels from his gloomy country to feast on the heart of Western Europe. What’s most crucial is the film’s style, and Egger’s dexterous camera is well suited to adapting F.W. Murnau’s original German Expressionist lens.
